At home with Anni Townend, The Grain Store Creator and Collaborator

We were delighted to recently welcome Maker&Son behind the scenes on an exclusive tour with The Grain Store Creator and Collaborator, Anni Townend.

Anni was interviewed as part of the Maker&Son ‘At home with….’ series, which introduces the people and places where their beautifully handmade, ethical sofas and chairs have made a home. At The Grain Store, we are proud to have an impressive 3x3 corner sofa, as well as a two-person ‘Love Seat’ from Maker&Son.

In the video, Anni takes Maker&Son Co-Founder, Alex Willcock on a tour of the property and reveals a bit about the history of The Grain Store, what makes it special and her vision. Speaking to Alex, she reveals: “It is a space people come into and immediately feel able to relax and your sofas make that even more possible. People can sit together, relax, have conversations and enjoy them.”

As an advocate for local, collaborative and ethical approaches, Anni also talks about the importance of working with suppliers local to Sussex where possible - one of the key reasons she was drawn to Maker & Son who are based in West Sussex.

Perfectly complimented design

As part of this feature, we would like to give a special mention to Molly Mahon who is pictured in the image above (in the header) sitting with Anni on our sumptuous sofas.

Molly is a printmaker and designer based in East Sussex. She designed the gorgeous cushions that perfectly set off our Maker&Son sofas, as shown below on the ‘Love Seat’.
